One of our favorite supermarkets in the area. And definitely our favorite Asian supermarket. Quality/Quantity - Love the pop-ups, this is where we discovered MoDo Donuts. See Mitsuwa Hi review. Today we got lunch and dessert. We needed something quick between our travels/appointments. Got my usual sushi. And supported the pop-up with a few Omusubi Gonbei; see pictures. Atmosphere - Today they are hosting the Japanese Gourmet Fair, see pictures. J Sweets - Their bakery is under remodel. Mochill - Sorry, I still like MoDo better, but we still bought a six pack. Santouka Ramen - My wife usually gets ramen, but actually chose sushi today. Match & Mochi - Got my usual dessert, well I chose the Hojicha, roasted matcha, flavor this time. Yama Chan Deli - Serves takoyaki. I did not try them on this trip as we can not eat that much and I have to save room for my dessert which was soft-serve. Plus, we supported the pop-up. Decent size parking lot, but really not enough spaces for all the businesses in this mall. Open 7 days a week from 9am to 9pm. Service - Good. They also have self-service registers. I am also glad we were able to pay for the pop-up food at the registers. In the past, that was not the case. Strict return policy; see picture. Price - Slightly above average, but worth it. Owner Comment - Congrats on your success since 1998 and with your 12 locations. We are loyal customers at your San Jose, CA location.

Solid grocery store with the best food popups and events. I usually stop by for ramen and leave with ingredients for hotpot (fishcake, mochi pocket). Really conveniently located off 280 with free parking. Good to pickup different gifts (next to the bookstore, beauty stores, etc) too.

I have so many amazing things to say about this Mitsuwa. First of all, the location is perfect. So many delicious Japanese restaurants and stores nearby (Tomi Sushi, Daiso, Fugetsu, Clover bakery, etc) And this Mitsuwa has a great food court. We stopped to get some ramen after buying some groceries. The matcha desert place is SOSOSO delicious as well but I forgot to take a picture. Also they have a kinokuniya (japanese bookstore) located in the food court with so many cool finds (sanrio merch, cool books, stationary and knick knacks). Definitely check this mitsuwa out

First time coming here for a chance of pace. It's basically just a Japanese market with food places here and outside. Japanese original goods at fair prices that normally can't be bought anywhere else. What makes this joint the most appealing would be the attractive range of food. Being able to enjoy Japanese food is refreshing among most.

Been coming out here for the past eight years only wished there were more Japanese supermarket aside from Japantown though when it comes to authentic Japanese meals Mitsuwa is my top choice staff employees would come out with a tray of prepared bento, sushi and sashimi generous portion size. Bro and I would dine in at the food court though it can be pack during lunch hour not so today perhaps weekdays are the best time. Loved the baked wheat cake along with mochi come on different flavor. Fish cakes (かまぼこ), taiyaki (たい焼き), takoyaki (たこ焼き) and inari ( 稲荷 ) are consider street food and reasonable priced. Best time is during day light hours avoid coming out in the evening as they have posted signs regarding theft and car-break ins.

I loooove going to Mitsuwa. They have such a wide variety of Asian/Japanese groceries. I went to Japan a couple months ago and I've been dying to come back. Whenever I come to Mitsuwa, it helps scratch the itch. In a way, Mitsuwa feels like a mini Japantown in one building. There's a bakery/sweets section where you can get various types of mochi and chocolates, including the famous Royce Nama chocolate. They had a mini arcade section (which is closed and turning into a gacha store), a food court with many great options (love the takoyaki, mochi donuts, hojicha lattes, and strawberry mochis), an amazing book/stationary store, and a section for beauty products! Their premade food options here are really yummy as well with my favorites being the tuna onigiri. The grocery store is well-kept, clean, and organized. I could honestly spend hours here. I'm so happy that I live close by to such a fun grocery store!

A great place to get Japanese groceries. Occasionally they run out of an item but does not happen too often. I love getting the fresh baked bread and the mochi cream from the front of the store. Just the past two weekend they had a special Hokkaido food sale. Food court is excellent. Only problem is parking which can get crowded at certain hours and days. It also has one of my favorite ramen places called Santouka. You can read my review about that place on Yelp. I think it is also an OG. I will visit here often.

Lovely Japanese market in San Jose. It reminds me a lot of Uwajimaya in Seattle! I would consider Mitsuwa Marketplace to be the heart of the plaza that it sits on. They have a decent selection of produce, lots of snacks, and cool smaller vendors inside their marketplace. You can find a stand that sells mochi here, and there's also a random little claw machine arcade tucked inside the store. If I lived in the area, I would surely do my shopping here!

Mitsuwa is a great place to get your Japanese groceries. I like that sometimes they have these food fairs/popups and specialty items are made and packaged to be sold to shoppers, etc. For example, Hokkaido.
